Scope of application

RC40 Profscreen finishing repair compound is used for the structural repair of the following types of concrete structures: load-carrying engineering structures, bridge conduits, wastewater treatment plants, and underground engineering structures (channels, pipelines etc.). Industrial structures.

Brief instructions for the implementation of remedial work

Substrate preparation

The substrate must be stiff, clean, and capable of bearing the load. Particularly dense and smooth substrates that are not capable of bearing the load of the layers (e.g., dirt, old coatings, film-forming material, water-repellent materials, or cement grout) as well as damaged concrete surfaces must be pre-treated with the use of sandblasting or water jetting. The substrate must be rough, i.e., the filler must be clearly visible. The preliminarily treated substrate must be dampened for 3 hours. The surface must be damp, but it is necessary to avoid creating puddles. It is necessary to remove all the corrosion products from the concrete substrate as well as from the steel reinforcement bars with the use of a sandblasting unit. For long-term protection of reinforcement against corrosion, it is necessary to apply Profscreen LC2.5 anticorrosion compound.

Mortar preparation

In order to prepare the mortar, the contents of the bag must be poured into a tank with clean water at a rate of 0.16-0.17 liter per kg while constantly mixing until a homogeneous mass is obtained. The mortar must be mixed with the use of an industrial-grade mixer. The use of gravity-type mixers for mixing as well as manual mixing are not recommended. The entire bag with the material must be used for mixing. The mortar must be set aside to cure for 3-5 minutes and then re-mixed. Then, the mortar is ready for use. The prepared mortar must be used within 60 minutes. In case of increased viscosity of the mortar in the tank (within the life time of the mortar), it is necessary to remix the mortar without adding water. Do not exceed the required value for the volume of water!!! Only clean capacities, tools, and water must be used for the preparation of the mortar.


The mortar must be applied to the prepared surface to a thickness in the range from 3 mm to 20 mm.

Instructions for the implementation of work at the temperature of -10….+5 °С

The key features of implementation of the work during the cold period are as follows:

  • The substrate must be dry, stiff, and free from dirt, dust, loose particles and must have no signs of oil stains, paint, and petroleum products.
  • In order to remove snow, ice, and frost and to warm the substrate, it is necessary to pretreat the repair area with a burner.
  • When working at sub-zero temperatures, the substrate must not be dampened.
  • It is recommended to apply a thin adhesive layer (INDASTRO Profscreen LC2.5 or INDASTRO Profscreen RC40Sm, which is more liquid) for better adhesion to the substrate.
  • The mixing water temperature must be in the range from 30 oC to 50 °C.
  • Dry repair mix at mixing must have a temperature not below +5°С.
  • Immediately prior to the implementation of remedial work, the temperature of the repaired substrate must be above zero. To do this, it is necessary to heat the substrate by means of burners, infrared heaters, or heating pads.
  • The remedial work location must be equipped with protective structures and positive temperature maintenance equipment for, at least, 3 full days following the date of completion of the repairs.
